An intimate studio on the second floor, above the café, reached by stairs only. A minimalist open layout holds a deep soaking tub and a sofa, with views of greenery and the thatched rooftops of Toyokuni Shrine.
Ideal for solo travelers or couples who travel light.

Maana Kiyomizu was designed by Kyoto architect Uoya Shigenori as a modern take on the machiya. It opened in 2023 with three suites, the Maana Living shop, and our café under one roof.

The three suites are serene, light-filled and artfully intimate. Antiques and modern crafts live side by side, showing the aesthetics of different eras. An unexpected approach to the machiya, the suites offer comfortable seating areas, relaxation tubs, and queen beds.
Every suite has Japanese artisanal crafts from our shop Maana Living, original Japanese towels, a bath ritual set, an artisan tea set, and bath salts.

Maana Atelier sits a short ride from Kiyomizu. Book a workshop during your stay, tea-dyeing, koji fermentation, earthen wall, or a botanical tea blending session, and bring a small piece of Kyoto home with you.

Free cancellation until 30 days before arrival. After that, the full stay is charged.
