In this exclusive experience, Tea Master Eriko warmly invites you to an invitation-only tea house, where the day begins with a quiet awakening of your senses.
Nestled in nature, this serene tea house offers a Kaiseki meal (懐石料理) inspired by the mindful dining practices of Zen monks, reflecting the beauty of the current season. Following breakfast, a traditional tea ceremony is delicately paired with Wagashi, traditional Japanese sweets, where each element comes together to celebrate the harmony of nature and the beauty of simplicity.
This seamless journey from breakfast to tea, is known as Asa-chaji (朝茶事), the Morning Tea Ceremony—a humble opportunity to witness this ritual’s full, authentic form, typically reserved for invited guests and seldom available to the public.

What is the cancellation policy?
0% cancellation fee if canceled more than 7 days in advance. 100% cancellation fee if canceled within 7 days in advance.
What is your policy on children attending the experience?
Children aged 6 and older are welcome to join. They will be charged the standard fee. At least one adult must accompany children under 13 years old.
What should I wear?
When attending the tea ceremony, we kindly remind you to bring socks and remove any accessories before entering the tea room to protect the ceramics from damage. Please also refrain from wearing fragrances.
Is the workshop bilingual?
No, the tea ceremony will primarily be conducted in Japanese, with some English used if necessary. However, there is not much verbal communication during the ceremony. The focus is on the participants and the tranquility of wordless interaction. We invite you to experience the silent conversation by sensing the movements and the atmosphere.

Tea Knot was founded in 2020 by Eriko Mikubo. She has been studying the way of tea (Chadō) since the age of nine and graduated from the Urasenke Gakuen Professional College of Chadō in Kyoto. Currently, she is a tea ceremony instructor. Based at the teahouse "Totousha" in Kyoto, she runs tea ceremony classes in Kyoto, Tokyo, and Nagoya. While preserving and passing on traditional practices, she also holds tea ceremonies in various regions both domestically and internationally through the art of tea, Chanoyu.
