Digital Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

Location: Kyoto, Japan
Type: Full time
About the Role
This role sits at the centre of Maana’s marketing: part strategist, part organizer, and deeply connected to performance. You will lead Meta advertising, use data to understand what is working, and help the team make smarter decisions about audiences, campaigns, and marketing spend.
You will bring Maana’s marketing to life across social media, the website, search, and content planning for Maana Homes, Maana Living, and Maana Atelier. You will work closely with the Communications Lead and Creative team to turn ideas into well-organized campaigns that go live on time and keep improving.
This is not a desk-only role. You will join photoshoots and events, spend time in our spaces, and get to know the people and experiences behind the numbers. The best insights often come from being there—and bringing what you learn back into the next campaign.
Responsibilities
Advertising & performance
  • • Manage Meta advertising across Maana Homes, Maana Living, and Maana Atelier—from campaign setup, audiences, and budgets to creative testing and day-to-day optimisation.
  • • Test new markets, audiences, messages, and creative; keep a clear record of what was tested, what happened, and what we should do next.
  • • Track performance across Maana’s digital channels—including ads, social media, website, search, and email—and connect it to bookings, retail sales, and workshop sign-ups.
  • • Maintain clear tracking and dashboards across Meta, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and website conversions. Share a short weekly update and a monthly report with results, learnings, and recommendations.
Website, search & customer journeys
  • • Keep website content and campaign landing pages up to date.
  • • Improve Maana’s visibility across Google and AI-powered search through clear website content, keyword research, on-page SEO, and regular search monitoring.
  • • Support CRM and email-marketing activity, with attention to repeat customers and returning guests.
Content, social media & collaboration
  • • Build a monthly content calendar with the Communications Lead and Creative team, making sure campaigns are planned and content is ready to go.
  • • Schedule and publish approved content on Maana’s social accounts.
  • • Monitor comments and direct messages, flagging questions, customer concerns, and opportunities for the Communications Lead to respond to. This role supports the flow of communication; it does not lead external communications.
  • • Coordinate briefs, captions, assets, formats, approvals, and deadlines—and share performance feedback with the Creative team.
On the ground
  • • Be present at photoshoots and events, helping with planning and on-the-day logistics.
  • • Spend time across Maana’s properties, retail, and workshops. Understanding the experience first-hand is an important part of making marketing that feels true to Maana.
Qualifications
  • • Required: Strong communication skills in English and Japanese at N2 level or above.
  • • Hands-on experience managing Meta ad campaigns, including audience setup, budget management, creative testing, and optimisation.
  • • Strong analytical skills: comfortable with spreadsheets, learning new skills quickly.
  • • Experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console.
  • • Experience using AI tools in marketing workflows.
